Dr. Marichu Magaña is the assistant director and counselor for STAR TRIO, a federally funded student support services program. She has held this position since coming to Mesa College in 2000. Before joining the District, Dr. Magaña was a Program Coordinator and Clinical Supervisor for non-profit social service agencies Social Advocates for Youth (SAY San Diego) and Operation Samahan. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from U.C. San Diego, M.S. in Counseling from San Diego State, and a Psy.D. in Psychology from Alliant International University. Dr. Magaña is a licensed psychologist.
