James Hannan has taught at San Diego Mesa College since February 1989 to the present as an adjunct faculty member. In addition, he taught from June 1988 to January 1989 at Oxnard College. For three years he was an instructor at Florida Institute of Technology. At all three institutions, he has taught both ecology and botany courses. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Miami in Marine Biology. His M.S. in Ecology is from the University of Oregon. He received his B.A. in Biology from Humbolt State University. Since September 1986, he has worked for the Miramar Naval Air Station gathering data on the natural history of game animals especially deer, including capture and radiocollar to define home range and fawning habits. He has also worked as a field biologist and game consultant for U.C., Santa Barbara. (Biology Natural History)
