Through 12/4 – SDCCD H1N1 “Get VAXED” Immunization Campaign. Enrolled SDCCD students can receive free H1N1 vaccination shots. 11/19 – Green Lecture: The Global E-waste Crisis Representatives of the Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition (SVTC) discuss the hazardous effects e-waste has on workers and explores ways in which we can help promote safe recycling practices that are both sound and humane. 11/20 – Green Event: Harvesting of the Three Sisters. Join in the harvest the Three Sisters garden at Mesa's Green Garden on the Mesa. The Three Sisters (corn, beans, and squash) have been planted by traditional Native American gardeners in many different regions of North America, forming an ecosystem by creating a community of plants and animals. This system creates a beneficial relationship between the three plants; each plant helps the others grow. Learn how to cook typical dishes from a local youth group in the Native American community using harvest crops. Fri. Nov. 20, 2 to 5 p.m. Green Garden on the Mesa. Mesa's Drama Department joins with the Culinary Arts/Culinary Management Department to present the second cross-campus, cross-curriculum “Dinner and a Drama.” The night starts with appetizers on the Mesa Supper Club patio followed by a fabulous prix fixe dinner prepared by Mesa's culinary arts students.
