Canyon Day 2011 Rocks Solid -- 206 Turn Out to Clean the Canyon

Wow! What a turnout!

Thank you so much for coming out to help clean our beautiful Tecolote Canyon! Professor Don Barrie and Ranger Janice Lavalle report that more than 206 community members, high school students and Mesa College students came out to clean Tecolote Canyon! Volunteers filled a huge dumpster truck with shopping cards, mattresses and literally, tons of trash and invasive species.

Check out the photos on our Facebook page(“like us” while you're there, and tag your photos!)

It was great to have Profs. Barrie, Bill Brothers and Leslie Seiger on hand, and even more wonderful to have our Interim President Liz Armstrong present. But YOU really made it happen! If you did not receive your certificate of participation, please email Lina Heil at lheil@sdccd.edu. We just got more printed and they will be in the mail shortly.
