If you would like to check out a book from the City or Miramar
campuses and you are not able to travel to their libraries, we can obtain the book
for you. It will take 3-4 working days, and we will notify you when the book arrives.
Ask for a form at the Reference Desk.
We may also be able to obtain, on your behalf, books and photocopied articles from
libraries outside of the San Diego Community College District.

The library instruction program includes both class
and individualized instruction. Faculty members may request library instruction for
their classes. Likewise, students may arrange for individualized instruction by making
an appointment. For more information, see
procedures for scheduling
library instruction sessions, or contact our Instruction Librarian,
Val Ontell. |
Miscellaneous Services
- Book holds: If you would like a Mesa book that is checked out,
you can arrange to get the book when it is returned. We will notify you when
the book is in. Ask for a form at the Reference Desk.
- Course reserves: If your teacher puts something on course reserve, check
under "Course Reserves" on SandyPac's search options screen. Look for the reserve number.
Once you have it, ask at the Atrium Check-Out Counter.
Note to faculty: To add materials to the Course Reserve Collection, please download
and submit a Course Reserve request form
(PDF document).
- Off-campus access: If you have a computer with Internet access, you can search the
library's online catalog via the
Web. You can also connect—from your home or office computer—to many of the library's
article and research databases. Just stop by the library Reference Desk to pick up remote
account and password information.
- Internet access: Designated Internet-access computers are located near the
Reference Collection on the 1st floor of the LRC. Many more computers offering Internet access
can be found on the 4th floor of the building in the Center for Independent Learning.
