This 200 HOUR online and lab course is designed to prepare the Heath Information technologist with current experience in for "Technical/Software Support Staff". Course material is based on standardized national curriculum designed to prepare a workforce equipped to serve the emerging needs of the healthcare industry as it evolves. This certificate program will equip you to work in healthcare as a support specialist providing on-site user support before, during and after implementation of health information technology systems.
Students who successfully complete this online course will be issued a certificate of completion and a set of competencies.
Application criteria are based on skills sets that are developed through education and/or experience specifically related to INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY and/or HEALTH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.
Individuals applying for admission to this training MUST meet one or more of the criteria listed below:
- Associate degree in Information Technology or Health Information Technology with a minimum of 2 years of experience in information technology systems
- Two years experience with Industry Certifications related to Information Technology systems experience. (CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network, CompTIA Security +, Microsoft Technology Specialist Series, or other related certifications)
- Two years experience directly related to daily processes of Health Information Management or a minimum 2 years experience as a Physician's office manager or staff
