Financial Aid Office Deadlines


2015/2016

2015/2016 FAFSA: June 30, 2016

Appeal Forms, Completed with Education Plan & All Documentation

Appeals are time-sensitive.  They must be received by the Financial Aid office at San Diego Mesa College by Noon on the student’s last day of classes OR by Noon on the following dates, whichever comes first:

Summer 2016 Submission Window: 6/01/2015 - 7/15/2016

Completed appeal forms (including all documentation) are due no later than Noon on the end date posted above or your last day of classes for the semester – whichever comes first.  Incomplete appeal forms will not be considered. 

SAN DIEGO MESA COLLEGE APPEAL PROCESS WORKSHOP 

 

2015/2016 Dependency Petitions:

Must be received by the Financial Aid office at San Diego Mesa College by Noon on the student’s last day of classes OR by Noon on the following dates, whichever comes first.

Fall 2015: 11/20/2015

Spring 2016: 4/29/2016

Summer 2016: 07/08/2016  NOTE: [Must complete 2015 2016 FAFSA on the web no later than 6/30/2016] if student is still enrolled at that time. Otherwise the deadline for each session ending prior to June 30th will be two weeks prior to your last class of the session, not the end of summer session!

 

Income Reduction Request (Income Reduction Request Form)

Must be received by the Financial Aid office at San Diego Mesa College by Noon on the student’s last day of classes OR by Noon on the following dates, whichever comes first.

Fall 2015:        11/20/2015

Spring 2016:    4/29/2016

Summer 2016:  Due to the mini sessions within summer,  the deadline for each session will be two weeks prior to the end of each, not the end of the complete summer session!  The Financial Aid office must receive your complete Income Reduction request with ALL required supporting documents by Noon on the Friday 2 two weeks prior to the last day of the last summer session you are in attendance or 7/08/2016 whichever comes first.

This is also true for students in late start classes throughout the Fall and Spring Terms.

 

Federal Direct Loans (Direct Subsidized, Unsubsidized, & PLUS)

Must be received by the Financial Aid office at San Diego Mesa College by Noon on the student’s last day of classes OR by Noon on the following dates, whichever comes first.

Fall 2015:          11/30/2015

Spring 2016:     5/02/2016

Summer 2016:  By noon, 7/01/2016

 

Alternative Loans    

Same as Federal Direct Loan dates listed above.  NOTE:  Please be aware that your loan provider may publish dates that differ from the campus dates posted.  The Mesa College Financial Aid office will always comply strictly with the dates and terms listed here only.

  • Fall Semester – 09/09/16
  • Spring Semester – 02/16/17

Work Study Program

Must have submitted 2016/2017 FAFSA on or before April 15, 2016 in order to be eligible for Work Study.  Participants of the Federal Work Study Program , once processed and placed, can present time sheets for payment up to the last day of the semester. Students should not work past the award eligibility.

  • Fall Semester – Students can work until 12/17/16 or their last day of attendance.
  • Spring Semester – Students can work until 05/27/17 or their last day of attendance.      
  • Summer – A Student can work in June only if the student is enrolled for classes during summer session or planning to be enrolled for Fall 17.
    • Summer work is approved on a case by case basis and if the Department has made specific requests to have student workers during the summer.

 Please check with the office for any deadline changes.
