Description: This course is a continuation of Health Information Technology 155A with an emphasis on advanced principles of ICD-9-CM coding of conditions, diseases, and procedures. Students code using both code books and computer software. The course includes coding, indexing, retrieval, and abstracting of patient data, along with instruction on how codes generate DRG's and how case mix is derived.
