Description: This course is an introductory survey of the fundamental concepts of astronomy, geology, chemistry and physics and the interrelationships among these disciplines. Emphasis is placed on the ways in which the physical sciences affect life on the planet and the role the discipline plays in addressing issues and problems related to energy, ecology and environmental sustainability. This course is recommended for students planning to major in geography and/or planning to transfer to a four-year institution.
