Dear Mesa College Science Student,
Bridges is a summer research program that will provide students with experiences and opportunities to gain knowledge and preparation for successful transfer to a four-year college or university majoring in the sciences (biology, chemistry, and psychology). Additionally students will have direct experience conducting research with campus faculty, and will therefore be more competitive for other research-based financial support programs.

BRIDGES is currently recruiting talented underrepresented science undergraduates who plan on transferring to a 4-year university and are committed to pursuing a graduate degree in the biomedical and behavioral sciences.
The BRIDGES program is funded by the prestigious National Institutes of Health (NIH). This summer program will provide you with experiences and opportunities to gain knowledge and preparation for:
- successful transfer to a university in the sciences (biology, chemistry and psychology).
- having hands on experience in research with university faculty making you competitive for other research based financial-support programs.
BRIDGES will provide you with:
- Faculty Mentoring
- Assistance with finding a faculty mentor to conduct research
- Summer salaries for research training under a faculty mentor
- Travel to professional conferences partially funded
- Laboratory trainee supply funds
- Networking opportunities and a link to other science students who share your goals to succeed
- Portfolio Development (curriculum vitae, personal statement, etc.)
- Scientific seminars
- A connection to other science students and much, much more.
BRIDGES starts on July 1, 2005. Students are being interviewed now for the 15 available positions.
