Jaclyn Guidi, Co-Head Coach
Growing up in San Diego, Jaclyn went to Point Loma High School where she started 4-years on varsity and was an All-League Player her Jr. and Sr. season. Jaclyn also played travel ball for 6-years. Jaclyn went on to play at San Diego City College for two seasons. She played shortstop for the Knights and received Second Team all PCC honors in 2003. She then went to become the Assistant Coach at San Diego City College for 1-year and then moved on to be the Assistant Coach at San Diego Mesa College for the past 4-years. Jaclyn also has been the Head Coach for her 14 under and 18 under girls fastpitch travel ball teams the last few years.
Jaclyn excelled in the infield and hitting for the Olympians softball team. She brings much enthusiasm and energy to the team. She is a motivator and has a great love for the game. She will be a great asset to the San Diego Mesa College softball program as a hitting specialist and defensive technician.
Mary Bongard, Co-Head Coach
Mary Bongard has returned to Mesa College and is now in her fourth season for the Olympians. In 2006 the Olympian's had a very successful season and placed second in the Pacific Coast Conference. "I am very proud of the team and how hard they worked to achieve our goal of going to the Regional Playoffs".
We had a great group for sophomores who had great leadership qualities. Our freshman class was an outstanding one and they really jelled with the sophomores.
Before returning to Mesa College, Bongard guided the San Diego City College Knights softball program for six years. In 2000, she was selected the Pacific Coast Conference Coach of the year. The Knights had their most successful season in 2000 finishing 3rd in the PCC.
Bongard then moved from City College to Mesa where she Co-Coached with Tricia Mendoza for one season before she retired in 2005. "It was great coaching with Coach Mendoza who was my coach when I played at Mesa. It was truly an honor to coach with such a quality coach who has taught me so much about the game of softball".
Bongard Background:
A graduate of Michigan State University, Mary coached five years at San Diego Mesa College as an assistant coach before going to San Diego City College. While at San Diego Mesa, Bongard led teams that finished second in the PCC in '93, '94, & '95.
Coach Bongard also works in the off-season at JP Longball giving hitting instruction to young athletes and also coaches a 16 and under softball team out of JP Longball.
"I am very excited to be back at San Diego Mesa College, the place where I started and received my softball scholarship to MSU. I would love to help the student athlete to transfer to the next level. I am hoping to give back to my former coaches and instructors, and hope that I can help a student athlete fulfill their dream of playing softball and receiving their degree from a University or State school. This is the ultimate rewards a coach can receive".
Jason Enomoto- Assistant Coach
Jason is currently the Catching and Infield Coach at San Diego Mesa College. Jason has been a perennial All-Star and All-Conference player at every level of baseball. He played at Tecolote Youth Baseball, Mission Bay High School and San Diego Mesa College. Jason played at SD Mesa in 1992 and 1994. Both years he was the starting second baseman and received 1st Team All-Conference. Jason has been coaching at SD Mesa the past 4-years.
