Todd Curran - Head Coach

As head coach of the San Diego Mesa Women's Soccer Team, Todd Curran has established the Olympian's as a perennial powerhouse in Community College women's soccer. In his first eight years, Todd has amassed a 126-35-22 overall record (.750 winning percentage), three Pacific Coast Conference Championships (2000,2003,2004) and was named Pacific Coast Conference Coach of the Year for the 2000 season.

In addition to his local success, Coach Curran has guided the Olympians to the Southern California Regional Playoffs for six consecutive seasons, reaching the Regional Finals twice and Regional Semi-Finals four times. The past two seasons have brought national recognition to the Women's Soccer Program with consecutive Final National Rankings of #8 (2003) and #15 (2004) as recognized by the NSCAA.

In his seven years at Mesa, Curran has had thirty-six (36) all conferences selections, five conference players of the year, seven NSCAA All-Far West Regional Players and one NSCAA All-American. Todd also had the pleasure of coaching the current Mexican National Team Goalkeeper, Sophia Perez, who competed for Mesa in 2000 and 2001. The women's soccer program is extremely pleased with the numerous ladies which have pursued their academic and athletic goals at such institutions as San Diego State, UC San Diego, Cal Poly Pomona and San Francisco State to name a few.

Curran received his bachelor's degree in Biology at UC San Diego. While there, he also played four years of intercollegiate soccer, where he led the Tritons to post-season play in three of the four years, winning NCAA National Championships in 1991 and 1993. Curran went on to receive his Master's degree in Kinesiology at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Todd's coaching resume includes the assistant women's soccer coach at Cuesta College, the boy's varsity coach at Mission Prep High School and trainer of the U17 San Luis Obispo Roadrunners soccer club. Most recently, Curran was named the assistant coach for the U18 Cal South Olympic Development team that won the Western Regional and took home the Silver Medal at the 2001 National Championships. During his summers he serves as a staff coach at the prestigious Santa Clara University Soccer Academy for girls and boys.

Besides his coaching duties, Curran also serves as a full time professor at Mesa College. He teaches Exercise Physiology, Heath Education, weight training and soccer classes.

Curran lives in Point Loma with his wife Bridget and two daughters, Melina(4) and Maggie(2). In his spare time he enjoys surfing, golf, traveling and relaxing on the beautiful beaches of San Diego.
