Franklin to Attend Lehman College (NY)
JULY 1, 2009 - SAN DIEGO, CA Lady Olympian freshman Jamie Franklin (Westchester/Los Angeles, CA) has verbally committed to continue the pursuit of her Bachelor's Degree while playing basketball at Lehman College. Lehman, located in the Bronx (NY), is an NCAA Division III member institution and a member of the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC). Franklin will play alongside of two former Lady Olympians, Kelsey Ash and Simone Byrd for the 2009-10 campaign and have three years of eligibility remaining.
Lady Lightening Head Coach, Eric Harrison is very excited. "We are thrilled to have Jamie coming here to be a part of our basketball family. 2009-10 Schedule Announced
5/11/09 - SAN DIEGO, CA The 2009-10 Lady Olympians schedule has just been released. The non-conference schedule includes four tournaments and two single contests. The tournaments are at Mira Costa, Barstow, Alan Hancock, and Grossmont. And the two single games are both at home versus Taft and Los Angeles Trade Tech.

Fall Hoops Class Announced for Those Interested in Playing for the Lady Olympians in 2009-10

Interested in trying out for the Lady Olympians for the upcoming 2009-10 campaign? For the fall, If you are a first year player trying out, the two CRNs that you will need are 61200, PHYE 204 and 70633, PHYE 251A. And if you are a second year player, the CRNs are 03089, PHYE 205 and 96647, PHYE 251B. The fall schedule will be available online sometime in July.

Lady Olympians Join the Fight Against Breast Cancer
For the second consecutive year, the Lady Olympians have joined forces with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, the Kay Yow Foundation, the Jimmy V Foundation and over 1,500 schools and organizations in the fight against breast cancer. In the past two years, this collaborative effort has raised nearly 1.5 million dollars.

Lady Olympian Head Coach Michael Hootner has announced the beginning of The Fast Break Booster Club. 100% of all donations will be used specifically for team meals, uniforms, new equipment, and travel costs. If you'd like to view the latest video of the Lady Olympians online, go to: video.msn.com. In the "search" box at the top, type in "Annessa Jamison 1," "Tessa Spence 1," "KTG2," "JT1," "Tamara Edwards1,""JT2," "Annessa Jamison 2," "KTG3," "KTG4," or "KTG5" and then hit "enter."
Then click "view all" on the right. Then, below where it says, "Soapbox User Video Results," click the Drop Down Menu that says, "Sort By" and select, "date added." This way when you watch each clip from left to right, you will be watching the entire contest in order.
Each clip is around six minutes in length. If for some reason the clips are not in order, they are labeled "clip 1, clip 2, clip 3, etc." so you can still watch it in order you simply have to move your mouse to the appropriate clip by hand. Enjoy!
August 13, 2008 - San Diego, CA Sophomores Kelsey Ash (Santana/San Diego) and Simone Byrd (Laramie/Wyoming) have both announced that they will continue their playing careers at Lehman College in the Bronx, New York. They had narrowed their choices down to Lehman, Hunter (NY), and Fairleigh Dickinson University at Madison (NJ) before deciding on the former. Ash will major in Pre-Med while Byrd will major in Business with an emphasis in Marketing.
June 6, 2008 - Clinton, SC - Presbyterian College Head Coach Ronnie Fisher has announced the signing of San Diego Mesa's 1st-Team All-Conference guard, Amanda Mills.
Mills had narrowed her choices down to Presbyterian, Mount St. Mary's College, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and the University of Dallas.
"Presbyterian was the best fit for me," said Mills. "I loved everything about it. And to have the opportunity to pursue my degree in Medicine while playing Division 1 basketball is a dream come true," concluded Mills.
Mills, who averaged 18.1 ppg, 4.5 rpg, and 3.5 apg helped the Lady Olympians tie the school record for most conference wins in school history (10). She shot 44% from behind the 3 and 85% from the free-throw line.

San Diego, CA - Sophomore Gillian Griffin will be attending Cal State University Dominguez Hills in the fall.
A two-year player for the Olympians, Griffin is excited about the opportunity to continue playing college basketball at the next level while pursuing her Bachelor's Degree in English.
"Gil will be missed a great deal," said Head Coach Michael Hootner. "She was an absolute honor to coach. She has a passion for learning and a wonderful work ethic. She loves life and will not only be a tremendous student-athlete at Dominguez Hills, but an active and engaged member of the community," concluded Coach Hootner.
