Head Coach: Kevin Hazlett
Kevin Hazlett started coaching at Mesa College in the fall of 1991 as the team's pitching coach. After seven years as an assistant coach, he was hired to take over as head coach in 1999. Since that time, Coach Hazlett has had great success in moving his players on to many four-year universities, along with his 2007 team winning the Pacific Coast Conference Championship. Coach Hazlett grew up in Northern California, where he competed at Mission Community College ('88-'89), before transferring to Pt. Loma Nazarene University ('90-'91). Kevin, and his wife Richelle, have two sons, Kyle & Tyler.

Ernie Reyes
Coach Reyes has been an assistant coach at Mesa College since 2007. He comes to Mesa after a successful career as a head coach at Mt. Miguel High School. Coach Reyes is a graduate of Monte Vista where he was All CIF in three sports (football, soccer, and baseball). He Attended Azusa Pacific University and received his B.A. and M.S. in Physical Education. Currently, Coach Reyes is the Athletic Director and Department Chair at Mt. Miguel High School, and teaches physical education classes at Mesa. He is married to Neomi, and has two sons, Ernie and Anthony.
Infield / Hitting Coach
Steven Sanchez
Coach Sanchez played varsity baseball at Santa Fe Christian High School where he graduated in '02. He went on to play baseball at San Diego Mesa College from ‘02 through ‘05. After leaving Mesa, Coach Sanchez attended California Baptist University ('05 – '07) where the Lancers were ranked 2nd in the nation his first year, and in the top 12th in the nation his second year. Coach Sanchez is in his fifth year of coaching, and teaches Healh and Physical Education class at Mesa.

Outfield / Hitting Coach
T.J. Merritt
Coach Merritt played his varsity baseball at St. Augustin High School, where he graduated in 2001. He enrolled at Cal Lutheran before coming to Mesa in the spring of 2002 for his freshman year. Coach Merritt batted.390 his freshman season, followed by .345 his sophomore season. T.J. moved on to USD where he played two years under Rich Hill. Coach Merritt immediately started his coaching career coming back to Mesa for the 2004 season, and moved up through the college ranks, making stops at Cal State San Marcos and Cal Poly Ponoma, before coaching Division 1 baseball at Indiana State.
