About Accounting Courses

Accounting 116A-Financial Accounting provides students with an introduction to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and how they are utilized in the construction of financial statements for publicly traded corporations. Upon completion of the class, students have an understanding of the accounting cycle, are able to prepare and analyze basic financial statements, and can explain how that information is used by external parties.

Accounting 116B-Managerial Accounting focuses on how accounting information is used within a company to aid in decision making.  Students are provided with an introduction on ways to keep track of the costs of production, basic budgeting and how changes in operations impact the financial health of the organization.

The program also offers a variety of advanced courses including those that focus on auditing, state and federal income tax and not-for-profit accounting. Specific information on courses can be found at Course Descriptions .
