The Alumni Association is creating a mentoring program called, "Alumn from Day 1," matching current students with Mesa alumni. Remember when were a student? Being able to connect with someone who has been there, and done that makes a huge difference. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please contact Anne Zacovic at email@example.com
If you are interested in gettng involved with the Alumni Group, or would like more information, please contact Anne at firstname.lastname@example.org or 619-388-2285.
The 2014 Distinguished Alumni are Carlos and Linda LeGerrette. They are 4th and 5th generation San Diegans, and graduated from Mesa in 1969. While students at Mesa, they formed the M.E.Ch.A Club, a student organization founded on the principle of self-determination, which is still an active club on campus. In the 1960's, as a young married couple, they joined Cesar Chavez in fighting for the rights of farmworkers. Decades later, they created Cesar Chavez Service Clubs to honor the labor leader's life and commitment to community service. The Union Tribune recently honored the LeGerrettes with the Latino Champions Lifetime Achievement Award for their dedication to serving their community and developing future leaders.
We are proud they are part of the Mesa family!
